Thrive Chelan Valley has partnered with many programs throughout the Chelan/Manson Valley. Here are some of these projects that have served to local area:
Thrive has been involved with the Back-to-School Fair since its inception, where families in need can come to get backpacks with school supplies for their kids. Students of all ages attend each year from Chelan, Manson, Entiat, Brewster, and Pateros.
In addition to the backpacks, licensed hairdressers give free haircuts, the Fire Department educates children about the importance of fire safety, Lake Chelan Community Hospital and Columbia Valley Community Health promote healthy living, banks provide information about saving money, and many more fun and helpful resources are provided free of charge.
Empowered to Connect Simulcast
Thrive is hosting the Empowered to Connect Simulcast in April 2017, to help people learn practical hands-on ideas for how to better connect, correct and empower kids, plus the brain research to back it up! Great for working with all kinds of kids, including foster children and other kids from hard places.
Partners include the Lake Chelan School District, Real Life Lake Chelan, Columbia Valley Community Health, DSHS, Lake Chelan Community Hospital Foundation, Chelan Valley Hope, Manson School District, and Living Stone Church.
The Thrive Youth Advisory Board (TYAB) worked with the local community and schools to collect and distribute new or gently used sporting goods from the community. Bins were placed at the elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as the public library in both Chelan and Manson. CHS alumni Joe Harris donated a large number of athletic supplies as well.
The TYAB and Thrive's Helping Hands program have taken the time to get the word out to local coaches, teachers, and other advocates in kids lives, and many youth in the valley have been able to play sports that would not have had the opportunity otherwise to be involved.
Thrive Chelan Valley has worked with many other organizations and groups to help advocate for the needs of kids and youth in our valley. Other projects we have been involved in include Manson Summer Camp, Chelan Swim Lessons, and the Chelan Summer Lunch Program. What needs do you see in our valley? How would you like to help be part of the solution for helping all kids in our valley reach their full potential?
