Thrive Celebrates - 11.16.2019

rooted in empowering youth

Thrive Chelan Valley (formerly the Chelan Teen Center) was established in 1999 to meet the needs of Chelan Valley middle and high school youth. In late 2013, three youth-oriented community groups: the existing Chelan Teen Center, Bridges Team (Chelan & Manson Schools) and Refuge (501c3 under Chelan Valley Hope that addressed immediate needs, homelessness, hunger, and mentoring), determined they could best serve youth in the valley through consolidated volunteers and financial resources and decided to formally join together to build toward common goals.

key financial support

In addition to other donors, the City of Chelan has provided key financial support to our Teen Center program. The first two programs were the Teen Center evening program, held at the Lake Chelan United Methodist Church on Friday and Saturday evenings, as well as the Above and Beyond tutoring program (in cooperation with the Lake Chelan School District) which uses community volunteers to provide academic support at the Chelan Middle/High School.

a focused vision

The newly formed organization was renamed Thrive Chelan Valley. In step with the original trailblazers of the Chelan Teen Center, Thrive continues to provide services for youth in the community. All three Thrive programs (Cares, Mentoring and Teen Center) exist to remove barriers and ensure all kids have what they need to reach their full potential. For more information on our three programs, visits our "What We Do" tab. If you'd like to get involved, visit our "How You Can Help" tab for more information on how to donate time, money or resources to our thriving programs.
