WHO WE ARE
OUR HISTORY
rooted in empowering youth
Thrive Chelan Valley (formerly the Chelan Teen Center) was established in 1999 to meet the needs of Chelan Valley teens. In late 2013, three youth-oriented community groups: the existing Chelan Teen Center, the Bridges Team and Refuge (a 501c3 under Chelan Valley Hope that addressed immediate needs, homelessness, and hunger) determined they could best serve youth in the valley through consolidated resources and decided to formally join together to work toward common goals.
key financial support
In addition to other donors, the City of Chelan has provided key financial support to our Teen Center program. In the early days, the Teen Center was home to both an evening program, held at the Lake Chelan United Methodist Church on Fridays and Saturdays, as well as the Above and Beyond tutoring program (in collaboration with the Lake Chelan School District) which utilized community volunteers to provide academic support at Chelan Middle/High School.
a focused vision
The newly formed organization was renamed Thrive Chelan Valley. In step with the original trailblazers of the Chelan Teen Center, Thrive continues to provide services for youth in the community. All three Thrive programs (Cares, Mentoring and Teen Center) exist to remove barriers and ensure all Lake Chelan Valley youth have what they need to reach their full potential. If you’d like to get involved, visit our “How You Can Help” tab for more information on how to donate time, money or resources to our thriving programs.
