Thrive Chelan Valley Invites Kayla Helleson to Lead the Way as Executive Director
The maturing of an organization can be exciting, challenging, and very rewarding. Thrive Chelan Valley has experienced all three and will be looking to Chelan native and Manson resident, Kayla Helleson to help guide the organization’s next phase of development and growth.
Thrive’s Board President, Cindy Knight, said, “We are thrilled to welcome Kayla Helleson as our new Executive Director for Thrive Chelan Valley. Her experience and knowledge of our local kids, schools, and community, combined with her proven leadership, is a great asset that builds on the foundation laid by our board, staff, and volunteers. We are well positioned to grow and continue serving Chelan Valley kids in new and innovative ways, and to help all youth in our valley reach their full potential.”
The anticipated departure of two Thrive staff members, combined with significant growth in Thrive’s key programs, prompted the Thrive Board to reassess the organization’s committee structure and staffing requirements. The decision was made to hire Kayla in a full-time executive role, recognizing that this shift will better suit our current needs and increase the value of Thrive to the valley.
Helleson, will begin as Executive Director on August 1. She is a uniquely qualified professional with extensive counseling and leadership experience in local schools and our community. Kayla grew up in Chelan and returned after college to live in Manson where she has been employed as a counselor at Manson Elementary for the past seven years.
“I feel very honored to be joining the Thrive team,” said Helleson. Words can hardly express my excitement!”
Thrive Chelan Valley is excited about the progress that the organization has made and for the increasing opportunities to enable the youth of our community to realize their full potential.
We’re grateful for the service of the staff members who have been part of our journey, as well as the leaders, volunteers, donors, and community members who make a difference where it matters most.
